About

Let me introduce myself

My name is Richard. I've had a healthy appetite for the English language and ever since I was a child, with a love for the books of Enid Blyton and Roald Dahl. As an adult, I've written for and edited creative arts journals, written for music publications, published four books of poetry, ran a copywriting business which won a Small Business Sunday Award from Theo Paphitis (Dragon's Den, Chairperson of Ryman), I've been to university to study creative writing, and I've received a diploma in Proofreading and Editing from the College of Media and Publishing. Phew! And now, I'm onto the next part of my journey – to help you make your own writing shine and be the best it can be.

TESTIMONIALS
"Richard not only has a precise and thorough ‘good nose’ with which he tracks down all grammar, spelling and punctuation errors like Sherlock Holmes, but he also makes respectful and open suggestions and offers perspectives on wording and content... What I took away from his great work on my tanka novel is a) never again will I publish a book without proper proofreading and editing (mind you, this is coming from a fanatical lone wolf) and b) I will gladly work with him again!"
Kati Mohr (Makoto), Poet
"Having worked with many editors over the course of several years, I was thankful to find information regarding R.C. Thomas, founder of R.C. Editorial, in one of my social media writers’ groups. Richard is a thoughtful, reliable editor who respects your voice, sharpens your writing, and makes the whole process smooth and stress-free."
Lisa H. Owens, Author
"...keen eye for detail and a good grasp of spelling, grammar, punctuation, and style, which will stand Richard in good stead in the workplace... We have no hesitation in supporting Richard’s application for work."
Shuna Meade, Tutor, College of Media and Publishing
